Star Wars games cover several continuities. Some belong to current screen canon; other celebrated adventures, including Knights of the Old Republic, are Legends stories. This guide focuses on narrative console and PC games rather than every LEGO, mobile, arcade and multiplayer release.

Current canon, around the Empire and Rebellion
This is an era guide, not a perfect day-by-day sequence. Battlefront II’s campaign jumps across several years, and Squadrons follows different pilots. The Jedi games form the most directly connected pair and should be played in order.
- Jedi: Fallen Order
Canon Game; about 14 years before A New Hope
- Jedi: Survivor
Canon Game; five years after Fallen Order
- Outlaws
Canon Game; between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
- Battlefront II campaign

How does this connect with the Star Wars films and shows?
The games can enrich a screen marathon, but they are optional. Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor sit during the Imperial era; Outlaws takes place between Episodes V and VI. KOTOR belongs to a separate Legends history, thousands of years before the films.
Peppermoon’s recommendation
Start with Jedi: Fallen Order, then Jedi: Survivor for a focused, story-driven introduction. Outlaws is a separate adventure with a new lead. Choose KOTOR if you want a classic role-playing game and are comfortable with it being outside the current film continuity.
